Cornus stolonifera (Red osier dogwood) is most common or abundant in moist to wet areas such as meadows, floodplains and marshes. However, it also occurs in forests, woodlands and shrub thickets. Excellent for streambank protection.
Seed treatment methods: Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours. Stratification: cold stratify for 90 days. Germination: Sow seed 1/4 inch deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed.
