Restoring Plant Communities Day

November 28, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm

Please join us at the Waldo-Takilma Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) for a day of restoration activities and planting over 2000 native plants! This ACEC has seen significant negative impacts from unauthorized off road vehicle use and trash dumping, and over the last few years we have worked to clean up this special management area and prevent additional damages. Now we can begin restoring the natural plant communities and rare species habitat! We have thousands of plants that need to get in the ground, so the more hands the better!

Located just under 3 miles down Waldo Rd from Redwood Highway. Please be prepared for all weather including cold and rain.

Suggested attire: heavy duty footwear (hiking boots, work boots, rain boots, hiking shoes, etc), rain gear or winter coat, warm hat, and dress in layers to accommodate changing weather conditions throughout the day.

Bring: lunch, water, and your motivation to plant lots of native species!

Provided: tools, gloves, drinks, and snacks.

Project Sponsors: KS Wild, BLM Oregon & Washington, Siskiyou Chapter, Native Plant Society of Oregon, Illinois Valley Soil & Water Conservation District, and Illinois Valley Watershed Council.
