Seed Blitz: Location TBA
Volunteer opportunity: Join us as we hand-harvest native seed to be used in future restoration work. We’ll be collecting seed from a variety of sites this summer, including the Rogue River Preserve, Vesper Meadow and French Flat ACEC. Explore some fascinating habitats with local botanists and ecologists, learn how to ID and collect seed from native plants, and contribute to projects that will support the next generations of bees, butterflies, birds and other wildlife.
Location and time TBA.
We will be social distancing and encouraging handwashing & sanitation.
Directions to the site and other details will be emailed one week before the event.
Restrooms may not available at the site.
All experience levels and ages are welcome. Come prepared to walk in tall grass and up moderate hills. Be aware that poison oak may be plentiful at this site. Bring plenty of water, sun protection, sturdy shoes and gaiters (if you have them) to protect your ankles from poky seeds.
